So im in a bit of a pickle. I live in northern Virginia(nova) and I have yet to find a place to put engines in for a reasonable price. I really wanted to do it myself but I have never done it before. So I was wondering is there anyone near this area which is willing to help me out? It would be greatly appreciated

Difficulty of install. Tech must be fluent in the JDM tongue.

1. Why are you swapping in a "JDM" motor?

2. You do realize that unless its a 01-05 JDM motor, its pretty much the same as its USDM counterpart.

3. Because of point #2, if you can unplug connectors, have an engine hoist and a few wrenches it should be a pull/put back thing. Not hard at all as long as you have basic mechanic skills.

Step 1. Stop googling "where do i get my jdm engine installed?".

Join your local sport compact forum and ask around, you'll find someone.

Well #1 my engine has 263000 miles on it and I want to build on it.
#2 I have been all over the internet searching for engines
#3 the only miata engines I have found that go right in are from a local track and they are beat up because they race them
#4 I have looked for clubs and stuff like that around here and haven't found any.
#5 I just want to start this build asap I want to have more fun in my car

You want to start your build right away?.......by waiting weeks for a motor to arrive from Japan and then waiting more time for a shop to do an install?

You want some advice? Find a junkyard and get a miata motor, build it up and then install it. There no reason to rush into anything when you have a perfectly working motor and no idea what the heck you're getting into.

Word. My friend back in So cal bought a turbo engine from Japan and installed it to find out it was blown. Then he was out a Daily for like 4 months. He rode a moped to work until just recently. Lesson learned was make sure you know what you're getting yourself into & always have a plan B

Also, want to have more fun in your car? Learn to drive it lol. Take it to a track or an autox and learn to actually drive it
