Randy, great minds must think alike. My dream wheel is the R.S. Watanabe Type R.

If I were to build a crazy Nopro type race car then I'd have Type Rs rolling on Goodyear racing slicks.
Or maybe magnesium centerlock BBS.

I also think that the Type A and Type B in a 14x6.5 and anywhere from ET14.5 to ET3 looks real nice on a street car with stock fenders.

Unfortunately, there isn't much choice in 14" tires so I'll also need a set of F8 15x7 ET28 for good measure.

Or why not mix and match F8 and Type R and get them totally blinged out with SMC (Special Magic Coating)

Anyone else beginning to see a trend here?

Those Star-shark, Sakuras, etc are beautiful for old school imports, but I doubt if they were ever made in 4X100 though...

Myself, I've always been in love with the SSR Mesh (formula/ reverse/ full reverse):

Blitz BRW-02 (especially in red!):

and TRA Kyoto DRAG 4

All VERY nice wheels! In some cases for me, the more "fugly" or unique the wheel, the more I like it - I have a "weird wheel" fetish. :D

I really which I could have gotten my RPF1's in gold - the silver is OK, but I don't like the lack of contrast between the white car and silver wheels. I can't bring myself to paint them either, since they're so well finished from the factor (anyone know if you can get Enkei stickers if I do decide to paint 'em?)

Some of my faves:

14" Gold Enkei RPF1's

14" Gold Enkei RPF1's (kewl meatball)

Volk TE37's

Work Equip

Some other cool wheel pics I've collected over the years:

Cheers!

what the name of the last set, the gold and silver interwoven one?

also anyone used those pcd changers that convert from 100 to 114?

Those can't be much more than show wheels. Any hard driving and it looks like they're snap.
If you look REALLY closely, you can see that there's more "meat" to the spokes where they join to the rim - it's all on the backside. Wouldn't be my first choice, and I agree they're probably not the strongest wheels, but kinda interesting in any event.

Cheers!

Super Star SS, I think?

14" RS-Watanabe TypeA/B are the sh*t.

Been drooling over them for a few years and just might have my set by the end of the week.
I've always liked the Work Equip Meister S1 2P's. 15s with a low offset. Maybe painted the same color as my cage?

What are these converters you speak of? Never heard of them.
it looks like a spacer that fits over the existing studs but also has studs put into the spacer that allows a 114 spec wheel to fit so you can run those old school hachi roku style rims BUT since it is technically a spacer the wheels will sit more to the outside meaning that it would be hard to run the deep dish style look without adding flares etc...i saw a japan set on ebay a few weeks ago but can't find the link anymore :(

YOU GUYS ARE KILLING ME! These wheels rock - I love them all - wish I had a car to put these on. The Hayashi's are right up there with the Watanabes!

I bought my Watanabe's at: http://www.takumiproject.com/index.html
Where can you get Hayashi wheels brand new? Or do they not make wheels anymore?
