My master key broke (which happens to be the only key I had for the miata) and a locksmith made a new copy. Apparently, the new copy isn't as great. It is completely stuck in my ignition. Anyone could help me remove this? I could start my car but when it cranks, it over cranks to the point where you hear scratching sounds. When that happens I force the key back down a bit so it could run. Lmk asap.. I hate this Lol. The new copy kind of bent. I don't want to twist it any more or else it will snap..

Are you pushing in?

You're at the point now where it's broken either way so push in firmly and turn it off, you may get lucky and it'll turn off without much issue or it'll finish tearing **** up inside.

:dunno:

You'll tear up the key or the wafers in the lock or both, don't worry about fuckin' anything else up.

You can remove the cream/white bit easy enough to turn the thing off properly whilst you assess it all/ work out what to do. If you just unscrew it you can get it free enough to be able to put another key/ a screwdriver into it/whatever to turn it off properly. I'd have a look to see if you've got the same issue I had, but in a different place... Good luck.

Have you tried moving the steering wheel/any wires under the steering column?
Yes. The steering wheel isn't locked whatsoever.

you might be able to have a key made from the glovebox lock. I would wd-40 it, forget the "mess and gunk" your bloddy key is stuck probably because of the same thing
Glove box lock has a third of the wafers and can be opened with just about any Mazda key and some semi-violent shaking, same with the console lock. Passenger door lock has the key code.

Grab it with some vice grips, really close to the face of the lock and twist.

Don't be a pussy, it's already broken!!!

Worst case is you buy a new lock assembly and fix it which guess what, is where you are right now.
