I'm talking to Larini (UK) (http://www.larinisystems.com/) about becoming their exclusive US dealer for NA-NC exhausts.

They claim to make the "best sounding exhausts in the world."

Pricing is commensurate with that claim, around $600 for the single-tip version, plus the cost of shipping from UK to US.

If you check out their catalog (http://www.larinisystems.com/catalogue.php) they make single-tip exhausts with 3" or 4" tips and a dual 3" tip exhaust:

Their video clips page doesn't have any examples of their Miata exhausts (I'm encouraging them to change that).

but there are some very entertaining clips of Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Lotus, and BMWs:

If anyone has links to sound or video files, please post links here.

As a small manufacturer, Larini are somewhat of a bargain for UK consumers, compared to other offerings.

£196 for a NA 1.6 system (retail price); plus VAT (17.5%), but non-EU consumers don't pay that.

£1 = $1.97 :? $386 plus any import duties and shipping.....

Larini charge $177 for shipping to the US, so $560 all in. cf. $400 for a RB Powerpulse system. But it is a nice system. RB and Larini are very comparable when it comes to exhaust construction. Both are relatively small outfits, and the exhausts are handmade.

NC system is a lot more, for sure.

Register with www.mx5ocforum.co.uk. Lots of Larini reports over there.

If thats the best sounding exhaust in the world for a MX5, don't count me in. They do look very very well made though.
However, in my opinion, the Roadstersport exhausts sound much better, i.e. no ricey sound.

That Dandycars recording isn't very good. The Larinis sound deep to me.
Thanks for any help digging up more accurate sound files.

I'm following up on your tip on the Kakimoto thread, so here's your opportunity to knock our socks off (or whatever you say over there).

I have heard a few Larini exhausts on Miatas/EunosRoadsters/MX5's,they sound pretty good too :D ,but i still prefure the JR exhaust (cat fitted) sound,as i find they sound deeper and not as raspy as the Larini.Larini = "best sounding exhaust" well, they would say that wouldnt they  .

Man, why can't anyone make a better looking exhaust...the Miata is a 4-cylinder car, you really can't make it sound "good" at least make it look a little nicer than a flowmaster with a 90 and a tip...
