All kidding aside, do some research on the topic. It's not an easy or cheap job. There are a lot of variables that could make or break the swap. Every aspect of the car is affected by doing the swap. Suspension parts (all of them), wheels/tires/traction, axles, trans, the list doesnt end

Wait.

What?

Do you have ten grand to blow on a miata?
If you shake the eight ball and signs point to yes then consider an LS swap.

Otherwise.
Do a turbo BP/FE3/SR/K series/KL. even tho some of those will cost just as much.

To search is NOT an option....
LS swap is worth the time if you have the cash. If you have a FREE engine/trans/wire harness it will still cost 7k plus to finish the right way.
Take whatever budget you were thinking of and double it. My car has the entire Boss Frog catalog thrown at it and with my power train only costing $2500 I am well over 12k now. Things add up quick. I know others have done them on the cheep, but making your own subframe/trans mount/rear diff mount still takes materials and time and time is worth money too.
A good suspension is nearly $2k and thats just shocks and springs with top hats and bump stops to handle what you have. Stock may work but it dont work well!
None of this is meant to discourage but to get you to think before you spend.....then again, go ahead and get buying, but call me when you run out of cash. I could use a second V-8 miata at $.15 on the dollar!
