Hello guys this would be my very first NON-HONDA and first BUILD-UP thread

I have been in the car world since 2000 and learned everything by DIY and lots and lots of trial and error....LOL

I have been building Honda's mainly Civic for the longest time and I have reached that point that there is no more thrill.....

Before I start here are some of the cars that i can't forget....I think I owned atleast 20 civic's but here are some of my favorite

2001 Civic Vtec3....normal I/H/E....Sold it to move to USA

1990 Civic wagon with a B18c/B16a trans...Sold it to get a K20a motor
From this....

To this....

2000 Civic coupe with a JDM ITR K20a swap....Sold it to pay off college
Before I parted it out and sold it was featured on Import Tuner April 2009 --->>>> http://www.importtuner.com/features/impp_0904_2000_honda_civic_rebirth_of_cool/index.html
From this.....

To this....

1998 Civic sedan converted to RHD sohc non-vtec I/H/E....current track car still not done building the motor...suspension is fully done
From this....

To This....

AND now here is my 1992 Mazda Miata I have been shopping around craigslist for one and luckily A friend of mine gave it to me coz when he bought his 1992 Miata the owner had this one to give away along with it...

Plan is to:
1. Make the car drivable
2. Repaint it red (still deciding what kind of red)
3. Tein Coilovers and Rollbar
4. Build the 1.6 motor for boost
5. Change all the bushings
6. Looks/Aesthetics
7. Track it

here she is....previous owner had an accident back in 2007 and since then it sat on his driveway

Bad side..

Good side...

Previous owner made it as a parts car for his other miata so there's alot of stuff missing luckily my friend gave me a 1990 miata to be a donor/parts car...In exchage I will do a 1.8 swap on his 1992 miata plus convert it to MT
So I ended up with 3 miata's at home for now...

Took me 2 hours to figure out how to remove the bumper! LOL Ended up buying a Haynes manual and found out there's 2 nuts under the fender to remove the bumper....

Today I removed the bent rear driver side LCA, busted axle, etc.

Parts car....see the big body damage....

And now it's on my car...

This is it for now til my next day-off i would fix the front driver side, try to figure out how to make this car start, then transfer all the stuff from the donor car to mine  I really enjoy working on this car!!!

here's another pic of the parts car.....

Instead of buying the windows and everything in it i just got a whole door from a local near my place.....

Here's the front driver side damage....when I picked up the car I did not notice that the guy had wheel locks.....I got no choice

Interior shot.....

Motor that sat for 5 years...

Some interior parts....

Anyways here's some update...
Motor is finally out, and SOLD it the next day

stripping the donor car for it's clean interior and putting the hardtop on mine :)

cleaned the 5 year old interior that hasn't seen sunlight forever.....
took the carpet off and washed it (no pics) prepping the whole car for paint soon....just waiting for my new driver side control arms

dash was also out

all the interior stuff have been washed and cleaned....

cleaning and taking everything out underneath for rust proofing ....

will let it dry first for a day or two before rust proofing it.

few updates....
applied some rust proofing....first i spray canned it with Duplicolor high temp black enamel then applied Por 15 on it (brushed it on).....did all of this on my RHD civic and until now it's working great and it's been a year now since i did the same thing....

shiny!

gathered some parts for maintenance....water pump, seals/gaskets, timing belt and head gasket....
waiting for some more parts....

My 1.6 motor on the left VS my friend's JDM 1.8 on the right....

a metal grinder lol then my dad saw me cutting it he was like "what are you doing!?!?! all you need to do is to hammer out that wheel lock out with a screw driver!"
lol

Wheel locks never stopped anybody from stealing wheels. They shouldn't defeat you too. Cutting it off should have been a last resort option.

Good luck with your build. Try not to destroy more parts, ok?

Eh, those wheels were ugly anyway. Welcome aboard! You've had some very nice Hondas. I hope the Miata will be just as classy. Great work so far!
I know! LOL Got some new shoes for the miata :D

good luck with your project. most of us came from hondas. you did a lot of impressive work on them man! for what you've done, you've got to have a lot of money.. those are a lot of big ticket items on the hondas. :D it looks like you've got really decent fab skillz, too!
Thanks bro! I just work my ass off for all my goodies.... 60hours or more a week....

Anyways no updates yet coz my painter (friend) is having a good time partying in Miami right now....
