very ols skool ...
don't post the article. go buy it if you want to read it.Someone scan and post please.
Matt - I'll buy a mag when I want to - not because someone posts one article online - if that is the case, then why does every online mag post several sample articles (i.e. GRM, CM, Modified, etc)? Most people are not buying mags just for one article. I no longer subscribe to SCC because of its younger-skewing content based articles, but I used to buy that mag on its content as a whole.Matt [exz3owner said:@ Sun Apr 30, 2006 2:26 am]don't post the article. go buy it if you want to read it.Someone scan and post please.
seriously.
I too want to see more miata content in print mags. But if you don't buy it to support the publishers and suggest they keep putting that content in, they won't do it. The last miata comparison done by sport compact car magazine (the one with the 3 miatas on the cover) was the worst selling issue they have done in several years. the consequence? There definately won't be another miata on the cover for a very very long time. Hell - it even had some people wondering if they should bother bringing project miata back to life (again).
Not trying to come down on you, but seriously guys - you're support matters.
Matt
Thanks for the cool comments - you too should have a shot at some mag exposure - You just need to chat with a photographer or two. I have a couple email's that i will forward on to you if you are interested. Your Miata is really nice as well!Peter, your tater is freakin awesome and that is a great article! You deserve some recognition on a mag!
Jimmy's ITB's look great too and I think the coverage on SCC mag would really help his business and start a cult following.
The chap's old school setup will really put smiles on many older gen's faces.
Now, supporting the magazines is another whole different issue. Why don't we just build more bad ass Miatas, that way they will run more articles and in turn sell more magazines?!?
I am not only a Miata fan for I come from the Honda camp. My Miata is my daily driver and I subscribe to tons of car magazines. So there is my support in regards to magazines. I am also working on a K20/K24 buildup with ITB's from TWM for my 2000 Honda Civic Hatchback. Either way, great posts and keep them coming~!
Cool - you had me at 'plit clew' - I understand what you are saying. =D>Matt [exz3owner said:@ Sun Apr 30, 2006 6:23 pm]i understand your points, but I guess you are different than most newstand buyers. Most people subscribe t...I look forward to see the article on your car. I've admired it for a long time. (The first time I saw it was at Deals Gap before the plit clew nose)
Matt
Thanks! I'm not ready for any photo shoot yet. Going to install my Racing Beat 4-1 Header, Boss Frog Clearview Roll Bar, and hopefully purchase the Maruha ITB's soon...not until then...Thanks for the cool comments - you too should have a shot at some mag exposure - You just need to chat with a photographer or two. Im just a sucker for Miata/MX5/Roadster content, so i buy any magazine, DVD, VHS, book, comic, etc with Miata stuff. I no longer have subscriptions to anyone because most of the content just doesnt appeal to me anymore, and there are just TOO MANY tuning mags these days.Matt [exz3owner said:@ Sun Apr 30, 2006 6:23 pm]i understand your points, but I guess you are different than most newstand buyers. Most people subscribe to a magazine because they like the content in general. Most people buy magazines on the newstand because of what is on the cover, or 1 or 2 feature articles. Right now in the "tuner market" EVOs and Sti's and Skylines and nice 240s are hot. 350z's, s2000s, are luke warm, and mazdas as a whole, and 99% of fwd cars are cold.
