Hi!

I got an e-mail today from Mazda asking if I can help round up some showable Miatas for the Zoom Zoom Live club tent. There is going to be a "Mazda Owner's Only" parking area for people attending the event, but in addition there is a special "show area" for 5 - 7 cars.

Show cars need to be at the event by 7:30am and will need to stay until 6pm (Saturday) or 5pm (Sunday). Anyone parked in the "Mazda Owner's Only" parking can leave whenever they want, though.

I don't yet know if there's anything special in this for people who show their cars (like being able to participate in the event for free or some kind of gift). As soon as I find out, I'll post.

If you're interested, post here or PM/email me. I'll need to know your full name, the city you live in, and the year/color of your car.

And yes, mine will be there for at least one of the days.

Can I bring a box of cool parts to spread out in a parking space in lieu of my unassembled car?

Seriously, are they having vendor booths? Who would I contact?

Nope, no vendor booths. This is an event to promote the Mazda brand and products. People attending are not coming with the expectation that there will be stuff for sale. A lot also won't be Mazda owners (but a lot will be, too).

This is basically Rev It Up, but for some reason the folks behind Rev It Up have switched to other brands. So, Mazda made Zoom Zoom Live instead. I'm sure the change was entirely about money (isn't it always?)....

I've been to the original Rev It Up (in Irvine), as well as Zoom Zoom Live (in Pomona)...both great events.

R-I-U was intro for the then new Mazda 6 (or was it for RX8?)...Z-Z-L was intro for the NC Miata (ummm...I mean MX5).

Anyone here who isn't busy should definitely attend! They have autocross courses & you can try your hand and see how fast you are.

TONS of FUN!!! ^-^

Not this year, as my Miata still isn't ready. Maybe next year.

cool! the more the merrier. we definately should have some modified Miatas on display!

but just to make sure everyone has the right expectation... the "autocross" is in Mazda's car (whichever model they are promoting). you don't drive your car and i think you only get one or two laps. there are other things happening there, too -- so it's not like you go, drive 2 laps, and then are done. you can easily spend two hours playing around with various stuff.

click the link and register (you HAVE to pre-register)... click here: http://www.zoomzoomlive.com

Don't know if the whole honda/mazda thing would be a huge hit or not ;)

Let me know if I can partake.. and i'll show up at 7:30 for the show.
