Some of you guys may have seen my non-roadster build thread stating that I was going to convert my daily driver (2003 Lex GS300) into a toy by way of swapping in a JDM Aristo 2JZ-GTE, single turbo, 500whp, suspension, etc.

Scrap that.

I just put a deposit down to hold my next project and it is another roadster. And I won't be starting from scratch on this one. It's already a spectacular example and what's been done has been done right. I'll be taking it, babying it and putting my spin on it.

It will be phat.

Awesome, cheap eBay aluminum radiator install. Took a chance and it paid off. This thing has been great.

Scored some legit wheels off Yahoo! Japan auctions.

Takes 1 and 2 on the SSR Watanabe RS-8's. All Bronze. Follow for a page or 2 to see all pics.

Final take on the SSR Wats. Bronze center, chrome lips. Also...Rooster goes to Albuquerque to hang out with Sharka and Flipper.

I organized that special order and actually purchased the wheels when I was convinced I'd be buying a different colored car. Now I'm not so sure they'll work. I'll either refinish them (which I think could be doep) or sell them and go in a completely different direction. Unsure at the moment.

Still on the fence. I think I may actually make the road trip and photojournal it. I am getting quotes from shipping companies, too...just in case I want to keep the mileage off.

Ordered: Xida Club Sport coilovers from 949 Racing. They'll be installed on the car before I ever see them.

I got 550f/350r spring rates as the car will primarily be driven on the street with very occasional forays into autox or HPDE lapping sessions.

Also ordered some very special seat covers. 95M pattern in 93LE red.

Well, the '99 was almost a 5-year project. And I did the bulk of the work before we had any kids (read: dual-income, little expenses). Now we've got a 2 year old and one more on the way. So let's not have expectations of epicness taking anyone by storm.

Maybe more of a drizzle.
