Some of you guys may have seen my non-roadster build thread stating that I was going to convert my daily driver (2003 Lex GS300) into a toy by way of swapping in a JDM Aristo 2JZ-GTE, single turbo, 500whp, suspension, etc.

Scrap that.

I just put a deposit down to hold my next project and it is another roadster. And I won't be starting from scratch on this one. It's already a spectacular example and what's been done has been done right. I'll be taking it, babying it and putting my spin on it.

It will be phat.

That is all. (for now)

SHORTCUTS:

Got the car home from Tampa, FL to Dallas, TX

Got the '95M seats recovered in '93LE red and installed

Installed the Nakamae carpeted center console

XIDA installation woes

Got my M2 1028 steering wheel and Runabout Mirrors

Teaser pics of interior with M2/Revlimiter/Nakamae goodies and exterior with custom Eunos stripes and other misc. hotness

Great pics from a photo shoot with Justin (tsxser)

The last bit of "Miata" is gone from the car. All of the branding is now "Eunos Roadster".

Installed Bellof low-pro headlights and a unique "EUNOS" badge on the rear. - GOOD pics of the Bellof Lights here.

Awesome, cheap eBay aluminum radiator install. Took a chance and it paid off. This thing has been great.

Scored some legit wheels off Yahoo! Japan auctions.

Takes 1 and 2 on the SSR Watanabe RS-8's. All Bronze. Follow for a page or 2 to see all pics.

Final take on the SSR Wats. Bronze center, chrome lips. Also...Rooster goes to Albuquerque to hang out with Sharka and Flipper.

Rooster gets a feature

Road trip blogs and route coverage. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

The work begins on a built '99 head swap.

This is gonna be good! Can't wait to see what you do with this.
exciting!
Spent some time cleaning out a lot of junk that was taking up room in the garage. Since I was moving this, I figured I'd snap a photo and post it. It's the Integral Kobe exhaust I got from tetsuya garage waiting to go on the car when I bring it home next weekend. It'll get a bit of a spit shine this week so it's super clean before I bolt it on.

I can't wait!

Poo. Just checked 949racing.com and they've updated the Xida Club Sport product page from "late April shipment" to "early May shipment". Was hoping the coilovers might come next week. I suppose that was wishful thinking even from a "late April" standpoint. But I was hoping it, nonetheless.

I'll have pretty much everything else I've ordered in-house either late this week or early next week. So those coils will be the last piece of the puzzle. They can't get to me soon enough!

I'm curious what you think of them.
I hear nothing but rave reviews. A lot of the local guys who are hardcore into track action have moved to the AST coilovers ("Xida" is 949's custom brew of AST) and swear there is nothing else worth considering. That's good enough for me.

Personally - I'll be comparing them to the Tein Basics I had on my '99. Just by virtue of the fact that what I had was so bottom-rung, I'm sure it'll be a night and day difference.
I like my Illuminas/FM Springs, but maybe in a few years, it might be worth it to move up.

The update is for orders placed that day, not every order (yours). That is why it is continually updated. Lead time currently is 4 weeks or so. Was 8 weeks at the beginning of 2011 and has been steadily coming down as AST Holland gets caught up with our orders.

By late May we should have plenty on the shelf for immediate shipment (zero lead time).
Thanks, Emilio. Makes perfect sense...I'm embarrassed that I didn't assume that was the case. So I guess I will look forward to receiving the Xida's sooner rather than later. I'll keep an eye out for that tracking number :)
Picked this up today. Ready to roll. Looking forward to the drive back to Dallas from the FL State meet.

Ah... '96 NA - Good choice! Of course, I am biased. ;)

I didn't see... what color?

These mysterious boxes were dropped off by a guy in a brown van yesterday. I wonder what's in them?

Is it the car?
While a kit car would be tons of fun...no. The boxes in the background contain my 2.5 year-old boy's new toddler bed. The boxes in the foreground contain some wheels for the NA.
At DFW airport waiting for my flight to board. Should be in the next 10 minutes.
I've decided to record tracks via GPS for all the driven portions of this journey. Here's last night's trip from the airport to my hotel: Google Map

Had a tough time sleeping last night. Between being away from the family, the excitement of getting the Miata, being in a strange hotel with an a/c unit as loud as the engine room on a cruise ship.....and the kids who decided to pull the fire alarm at 2am...I probably got about 5 hours of "Z"s.

Hopefully I'll be able to do a solid 8 to 10 hour stint tonight before crashing somewhere along the route. I may leave the meet a little earlier than planned to ensure that'll happen.
Made it as far as Pensacola last night. The car has no cigarette lighter due to the sweet, sweet start button. So I can't record any more tracks without the phone battery dying a quick death.

Uneventful drive so far. The car rides and drives like a '96 Miata that just came off the dealer lot. So cherry. Love it. Can't wait to start tearing into the boxes of parts in my garage and tackling them one by one!

Should be pulling in my driveway between 6 and 7pm tonight.
snap! drive safe dude!
