Some of you guys may have seen my non-roadster build thread stating that I was going to convert my daily driver (2003 Lex GS300) into a toy by way of swapping in a JDM Aristo 2JZ-GTE, single turbo, 500whp, suspension, etc.

Scrap that.

I just put a deposit down to hold my next project and it is another roadster. And I won't be starting from scratch on this one. It's already a spectacular example and what's been done has been done right. I'll be taking it, babying it and putting my spin on it.

It will be phat.

That is all. (for now)

SHORTCUTS:

Got the car home from Tampa, FL to Dallas, TX

Got the '95M seats recovered in '93LE red and installed

Installed the Nakamae carpeted center console

XIDA installation woes

Got my M2 1028 steering wheel and Runabout Mirrors

Teaser pics of interior with M2/Revlimiter/Nakamae goodies and exterior with custom Eunos stripes and other misc. hotness

Great pics from a photo shoot with Justin (tsxser)

The last bit of "Miata" is gone from the car. All of the branding is now "Eunos Roadster".

Installed Bellof low-pro headlights and a unique "EUNOS" badge on the rear. - GOOD pics of the Bellof Lights here.

Awesome, cheap eBay aluminum radiator install. Took a chance and it paid off. This thing has been great.

Scored some legit wheels off Yahoo! Japan auctions.

Takes 1 and 2 on the SSR Watanabe RS-8's. All Bronze. Follow for a page or 2 to see all pics.

Final take on the SSR Wats. Bronze center, chrome lips. Also...Rooster goes to Albuquerque to hang out with Sharka and Flipper.

Rooster gets a feature

Road trip blogs and route coverage. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

The work begins on a built '99 head swap.

Looks great!!
I really need to get my M seats out of their boxes and finish up the skin install (only the headrests are done...lol).
Thanks! If you want a hand with that while the process is all fresh in my mind just let me know :)
...and I totally agree about the hog rings: PITA!! Trickyrix & I tried this on my seats a few months back. Those suckers were a pain!
You found out the hard way why I have a supply of thin zipties handy...
I like where this is heading. More pics.
Sometimes the small victories are the most fulfilling.

Spent the last 2 evenings trying to figure out why the horn didn't work. Through a lot of trial and error (because of my lack of electrical experience) I was able to use my multimeter and test leads to verify that there was no connection between the horn wire at the base of the steering column and the horn relay in the engine bay. Instead of trying to dig through the thick loom of wire in the cramped driver's side footwell in search of the disconnect, I decided to run a new wire. 2.5 feet of wire and 2 vampire clips later, my horn works.

Now I can get it inspected and registered. Not in a huge rush for that. The temp tag is still good for a few more weeks.
I am hoping this car turns out to be as great of an example as your last car. There's nothing to suggest it won't but the happiness in being able to have built two Miatas with great detail would have to feel really awesome. I can't wait for this to happen.

Got a package today. Opened it and this is what I saw:

I love JDM packing materials.

Underneath it all was a nice, clean LE red tonneau cover. Pardon the garbage cell pic. Nicer photos will come when the car is out, clean and the camera has a charged battery.

Got to love the red boot cover! I'll be interested to see what you do once a rollbar goes in. ;)

Nice progress!

Yeah. Going to get it tailored to fit. Not sure exactly who I'll take it to but I have a couple leads. :woolery:
Before you get to far, change out the aftermarket tinted windshield for a decent clear windshield.

And even though you have a cool generic Moon rearview mirror, I'd consider converting to a NA6 mirror mounted on the header instead of the glass.
Funny, the windshield doesn't look tinted to me.

That red boot is the mutt's nuts. Very drool worthy.
I really like where this is going!
Red interior really looks sweet!
How much are 95' M seats worth? I wouldn't mind selling mine in the future, haha.

Really depends on the condition of the leather. If the leather needs to be replaced like his then they are not worth much. new leather skins will run you about $700 :fp:

If you want to sell your seats there is a guy in my Tampa, FL Club that has a 95-Merlot that is missing the seats, you should get in touch with him as im sure he would be interested!?! His screen name on here is Hammerhead

Wow it looks so nice with the 93LE Red boot Steve!! A custom fit with the rollbar was one of the things I always wanted to do but never had time/money to.

$900+ if you want 100% leather with no vinyl panels at all. I had to go this route due to the red color. I was told that the red vinyl doesn't match the red leather very well and that it would be noticeable.

I can't wait to have the polished bar peeking up through that boot cover.:mrgreen: Talk about money....gotta save up some scratch for that bad boy.
I was able to make my boot fit with the rollbar by simply pulling the stitching out along the sides.
Yeah, that's the method I usually hear about being used, Titus.

If we were talking about chopping up a full tonneau, that might involve a little more work.
*insert tonneau whoring here*

Yeah... the '93LE's tonneau and boot went on a shelf when the rollbar went in. I modded the black boot for Sunburst, although I rarely use it.
The seats look great. All three sets of recovered 95M seats I've seen are super nice.

Thanks! Yeah...they're my fave USDM factory Miata seat.
