I realize that there are some major problems to over come but if you had the option what would you use :?:

My choice would be the 2.3L three cylinder out of the Triumph Rocket 3
-140 HP
-140 foot-pounds of torque
-Dry Sump
-the sound of a three cylinder motor
-linear gear box (but you get that with any motorcycle swap)
-the motor is all ready facing the right direction due to the shaft drive
-and just look at the beautiful flat torque curve

thats 140LB/feet of torque driving a ~500LB motorcycle ....not a car, unless you drive a caterham super 7, radical race car, or some custom tube job its not worth it, plus for the money you'd spend on the engine and fabrication you could make your stock engine plenty fast.

Thats wheel horsepower right? after it goes through the diff youre probably looking at around 130hp. Maybee more power is available through tuning.

If ultimate power is the goal other things would be done, but a bike engine in a miata would be cool.

Turbo'd Busa's put out over 200whp, that'd be a good start :mrgreen:

built turbo busa motor..... 300+ horsepower, and that wail!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the busa motor with a turbo is what I was contemplating doing. It would just take waayyy too much time for me to engineer and lots of cash on top of it. Id rather do something( and am going to do something;)) thats never been done before on a bp motor than invest all the time and effort into the busa motor swap.....

a friend of mine has a 398whp turbo busa, but i have never seen him get on it, just cruising, lol

If you want to do something very unique try a two stroke engine!
I remember there was a thread in m.net a year ago... that would be cool :)

Personally I would use the Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle engine!!! :)
