Hey guys, unfortunately, my car bogged down and turned off...for good.

I thought it was the fuel pump that went out, so I replaced it with a new one..still didn't start.
I then figured it has to be the fuel pump relay, and replaced it with another one, and no luck.
I checked all the fuses, and they were fine....

The car cranks up normally. I checked the fuel lines to see is there's fuel coming out when i crank it, and it is dry, no fuel when cranked..

I'm boggled right now and haven't had a clue of what else it could be..any help would be grand! Thanks!

Maybe the lines/injectors are full of gunk..... or a clogged fuel pump. Has the car ever run out of gas?
Has hasn't ever ran out of gas, maybe ran on low fuel several times but that's it...Haven't checked if the lines were clogged, but i will check this today and see if their all cleared.

Did the timing belt break?
Just checked it, it's still in tact, but it isn't centered with the cam gear, not sure if that matters..

If you had the lines off and no fuel came out, plus checked and had no power at the fuel pump connector then you need to figure out why you don't have power there. If you put a new pump in more then likely the pump is good. So find out for sure that you're not getting fuel from the fuel pump and that the pump isn't getting power when you crank it. Then figure out why it isn't getting power.

Cool thanks for the map out..Unfortunately I ran through just about everything and couldn't figure it out..

I'm actually getting the car towed to a mechanic/electrician today, hopefully he'll figure it out..

Thanks for the help guys!

don't do it just yet!

i had the same problem with my NA and after a few calls with Rocky from Miatamotive (also a few trips in the homies car to his shop), process of elimination came down to putting a c-clamp on the crank pulley to align and hold it at the right timing mark, and correcting the timing. started up rough but smoothed out after i put some 91 in it.

make sure to triple check your timing. if i learned one thing in the couple months i've owned this car, it's that the timing is probably the most important aspect of the car is it's not running correctly. when i got the car it was off [timing], replaced the water pump (leaking at the weap hole) and it went down hill from there. bought a new fuel pump, fuel filter, new FPR, new spark plugs (2 sets [stock and cold]), new plug wires, changed the coil pack, new headers, new O2 sensor, water temp sensor, and lower thermostat... and even though i had sent the timing numerous times before, i went through and set the timing 3 times in a row, cranking the engine over each time to make sure it stayed... found out the belt tensioner wasn't staying where i set it. bought a new one and shazzam! runs like a three legged kitten :hello kitty:(needs the head gasket replaced and lifters/adjusters cleaned).

i wouldn't give up just yet, sounds like you've already pinpointed the problem, and you're doing the right steps since you mentioned voltmeter. if you're sure it's a fueling issue, there's only so much going on. you've checked relay and pump.

i dealt with this recently and even overlooked some resistance values. it was getting power/12.4V at the harness to the pump assembly, and ohms looked to check out but it took a few drunk nights in the garage (also working on other projects around the car) before i noticed the wiring on the fuel pump assy was bad for the ground.

car was running intermittently for 2 weeks, yet i managed to smog it and survive a track day. though it got stuck 3 times within those two weeks, replacing the relay and then the pump solved it before the third time where i found the issue at the fuel pump housing.

let me know if you need some help or pointers.

EDIT: oops guess we're too late. keep us updated on the problem. since this picture is relevant, here it is lol:

Do'h! I saw that you probably already took it to the mechanic. Did you ever check the main relay (fuel injection relay)?

Try tapping it a few times while someone else is starting the car. It might fire up.

Mine failed a while ago. I had to tap it on occasion to get my car to start. Sometimes I would pull it out & beat the crap out of it against a wall & it would work. Did this till my relay finally came in. Haha!

did that for a week then got a relay off of Rocky and used that till my relay came in.

Great stuff here! Thanks FOR ALL THE INFO.
Fortunately It's no longer my problem..bad boy was sent off to my mechanic today..

After my mechanic ran through everything and diagnosed it, it turns out that the fuel pump wasn't getting power....thus far.

And that was due to bad wiring by the previous alarm shop that half ass'd on the ignition wiring...some wires, and the dash light harness was fried.....I removed the alarm just to have one less future problem.

So far, that was the initial problem he ran into to..and hopefully that was the main issue..but i also have a hunch that the Mass Air Flow meter might be out also, as i heard that if that goes out, no fuel will be delivered...

anddd..yehh that's all I got so far.
Thanks Again! Some good **** in here, I'm definitely going to save this thread, in case I run into this problem again.
