don't be a pussy...lay the shock sideways....remove nut with impact...done....

better yet....save up some $$$ and pay someone to do the work. If you can't figure out how to remove a upper shock mount then coilovers will probably kill you. :\

My friend and I laid it sideways and used vice grips and a wrench. It was slow, but it worked.

rent some spring compressors from autozone. compress the spring then remove the nut. thats it.

then assemble the coilover in reverse order. done.

how do i stop the spinnng though , i cant use a vice grip on the rod cause that voids the warrenty

Holy fucktards. If you have any flat rubber like old rubber tire inner tubes make some strips out of it to wrap around the rod and then use the vise grips. It will protect the rod and grip it so you can get what you need to done. Problem solving skills are necessary when working cars.

One side of your shock should be flat like in the picture thats what keeps the rod from spinning when you remove the nut , if the rod is spinning the threads are probably damaged
