Ok, rather than comment in Barrym's thread about an NB bumper like this I figured I'd start my own. Seeing this picture again made me want one all over again. Does anyone know anything solid about it? I figure it is a custom piece but i'd like to know if anyone knows for sure. Also, does anyone know the owner of the car or have more pics?

I searched and could only find one thread about this piece on m.net so i think some detective work beyond my capacity is needed.

I am sure the trap piece is crazy expensive but where can one find a trap rear bumper?

Bumpers not that horrendously priced, its shipping it that will kill. I have inquired about it before. Bumper might be ~$600, shipping is damn near the same.

It is Trap, and its awesome.

I think I'd rather have an S2 shorty rear though.

Me wants; who makes it if not Simpson or Trap?

It's not the same bumper. Woolery has the Simpson design bumper.

Woolery's license plate is in the stock location. The bumper on the red car has a cut-out in the bumper for the license plate frame, which is in a lower position than stock. The bumper on the red car has the look of a 968 or 928 rear end.

Trap sells a lisence plate pocket, you cutout your bumper and fiberglass it in. That bumper is without a doubt the trap bumper.

Trap can also make pretty much whatever you ask for. They do one offs and various spin offs of their own work all the time. Invert can hook you up with them, because Invert is awesome like that. They have created many products not listed on their site. IMO they aren't even badly priced, atleast in comparison to ther Japanese tuner brands like Arios, Nakamae, Garage Vary, Neliex, etc.

If you notice there are NO bumpers or side skirts on their site. They can get them for you, but expect shipping a single bumper to be atleast $500, and probably a good bit more. I assume that is why they don't list them. Shipping charges and calculations would be a pain in the ass. The charges would probably change per every zipcode on an item that would be packaged so large.

I always liked this bumper, maybe Mike from autokonexion can help design something similar?

I've been calling for Mike to make one of these forever. Seriously I will be first in line -- especially if he sells them uncut so we can run center-exit without having to fix a stock bumper.

IMO this design is far superior/exotic looking compared to the Simpson, and I'd much prefer this option. That said, I'd be very excited about any affordable shorty bumper.

I would love to have something like this bumper. It's my favorite rear. Although I'd preffer te bottom to not be so bulbous and have a shape more akin to the S2 racing rear end. It needs a bit of shape, or something going on, because it looks a bit too plain.

I think incorporating the S2s bumper shape, with a smooth finish panel like the trap, would make the perfect NA bumper.

Picture for reference.
