I am considering replacing the head gasket on my 2010 2.0L NC without removing the engine first. I am trying to find a way to hold the crankshaft pulley while I loosen the pulley lock bolt. I'm not able to find the tool that will work, nor have I located any clever ideas that people have been successful with. All I have found is holding tools for the NA/NB and ideas for how to remove the pulley on an NA/NB.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

as far as I can see it's a ford duratec crank pulley...so...that solves that..

though it worries me that you want to do a head gasket but have a hard time finding a crank pulley tool.

most head gasket jobs require 3-8 hours depending on the how your car is built and what the disassembly and reassembly procedure is. This labor cost is where most of the expense come from for your head gasket job. On top of the labor costs, you have to add on the replacement parts required for the job.
