Hey guys I just bought a black 97 with 180,000 miles for $3,500, it's in really good
Condition except for a small dent on the left front Fender. The interior is in great shape
I want to lower it and get some wheels xxr or something similar. if
You guys have any suggestions let me know, i don't have another of money so any help
Would be appreciated. THANKS GUYS!!!

Timing belt, waterpump @ 180k. Service is every 60k. I went another 10k on mine fine, your mileage will vary. :)

know if yours has the LSD? Limited Slip Diff totally changes the cars game, it was fun when i had an open, but having an LSD makes it a whole new car.

note - might as well do the seals & gaskets that come with the timing belt change along with the waterpump. miata.net has a good write up on doing it.

Yeah, definitely maintenance first, you wont regret it. (First hand experience here :fp:)
Oil change, timing belt, water pump, belts, plugs and wires, valve cover gasket, maybe some more little things if you'd like the insurance of reliability. If the tires warrant replacing, get some decent tires to learn the car with and just drive it. Enjoy what it is and then plan out your mods according to your goal.
Don't take this like I'm telling you how to build your car exactly but I think you'd enjoy it more this way.
