... got home to find large box waiting for me :D

this is the brace bar made by Arrive in Japan and is hand tig welded aluminium porn

truly beautiful bit of kit and stupidly chunky ( yet amazingly lightweight )

designed to match the M2-1001 roll bar that I have in my car in both tube dimension and material and does not foul the rear support legs as my R S Aizawa one did to my disapointment :?

this is gonna look th ebusiness when I hook up my Takata harneses

for the quality on manufacture and the materials involved I think it was pretty good value ( $300 ) I couldn't have got anything similar custom made locally for that sort of money !
Full custom 4-point roll bar in high grade stainless steel, made in UK, £310:

So I dare say a simple bar could be made quite easily, and relatively cheaply.

One thing I have noticed with these straight harness bars; they foul and wear the backs of seats. Probably not a problem in Japan.

that would be $300 not £300 ! ( actually £130 ), secondli it is high grade aluminium not stainless steel so probably weighs a third of what it would in stainless ...

end plates are CNC'd from billet with radiused scallop where it meets the main cross tube so if youknow of a fabricator that can do this custom work for less in the UK let me know

bar has to be straight as the rear support bars of the M2-1001 roll bar foul all of the ( even slightly ) kinked bars available and do not foul seats if you have the roll bar fitted as the seats will most probably foul the verical legs of the roll bar before they would hit the harness bar ...

Are they realy that safe to attach a harness to? I wouldent trust my life with one but to each his own!
it's as solid as where the original setbelt is attached to and the webbing on my roadster belts is now 14 years old so I am much happier with my new Takata harnesses and Arrive brace bar in terms of safety

p.s. I am sure that 14 years of use to an inertia seat belt mechanism plus all the dust and crud dthat will get in there over a long time will not improve it's performance none either ?

Are you saying that the m2-1001 rollbar is made of aluminum?
it sure is

you can lift it with one finger !!! it probably weighs aboout th esame as the small pieces of rear shelf metal I had to cut out to fit it :?

... very strong though when it is all bolted in - you can shake the whole car with it !

I think you got gypped. You could have sprung for the Tuckin99 cockpit brace, with eye-bolts for $125 US plus shipping. Looks better too.

nice bar...very beautiful.so that goes behind the seats for seatbelt harness? i don't think it be made out of aluminum. it still looks nice tho. but if doubt crosses your mind... open your toolbox and take out ur magnetic pick-up tool and see if it sticks. if it don't, then o well, its not steel. but look on the bright side, if its aluminum, its a lot lighter!

yes bar connects to seatbelt tower mounts and sits behind seats

.... believie me, I have held it and it is 100% tig welded aluminium :D same diameter and material as my M2-1001 roll bar it is designed to match
