Hello,

RS Products recently introduced me to their new styles of gauge faces. They look awesome and still keep their "clean and retro" look like they did before.

Images speak for themselves:

What is so nice about these gauge faces ?

Well, RS Products did not introduce me only to their new gauge faces. They also showed me their new M2-1002 Style Meter Panels. These ONLY work with these 2 gauge faces (means that Type-MG or OEM won't work with them). It's a shame, but they needed to create new gauge faces that are smaller to fit these nice rings.

Images, again, speak for themselves:

That is just one version of the meter panel as MANY versions are available (smoked bulbs (like shown), red bulbs, black bulbs, navy background, etc).

Okay, now you guys must be wondering HOW MUCH for these gauge faces ?

Well, here is the group buy pricing:

[email protected]: $129.99 (minimum 9)
[email protected] : $114.99
15+ : $99.99

Q: Why do a group buy for these ? They are already released in Japan!
A: Because the Japanese version is in KM/H, it only works with Japanese cars as it goes up to 180km/h. We would need to have a MPH version and RS Products will not do it only for 5 persons.

Q: You, guys importing parts from Japan, always overprice your stuffs!
A: If you look at RS Products website, you will notice that the price for both these items are at JPY15,540. That is roughly $155. Do I need to say anything else about this ? I just want to introduce this or these awesome gauge faces (and I will get one for myself at the same time :)).

Q: I can make my own gauge faces for less than $20, why would I buy these ?
A: Ask anyone that owns RS Products gauge faces and you'll understand why these are better. The lighting is simply perfect, there was a lot of research done to make them light same as OEM (no halo, just perfect lighting). To some it's worth it, to other not. You also get some very stylish gauge faces that looks way better than OEM.

We need to choose 1 model, that is the downside. However, if we can get 10 of each model, we could work something out to have the 2 versions released in MPH.

We don't have pricing for the meter panels yet, but it should be similar to the older RS Products ones, maybe a bit more.

Please ask the questions here and put your name on the list in the Group Buy section if you are interested.

Im in for TYPE-Smith Version II - but need to know if these will look ok when used with the standard KG meter panel - you said they are smaller to fit into their new panel and would like to know what the trade off is with the KG panel with thinner rings.

Good question. I have the KG Works meter panel also. I also want to verify that there will not be a "unleaded fuel only" indication as is on the MG Type MPH gauges.

omg type RS...
unfortunately I doubt the price is gonna be anywhere near low enough to what I would be able to warrant spending on gauge faces at this time...= (

Each gauge face has an affinity with the OEM meter panel and there is no problem visually. Actually, more than half of the Japanese owners are using the genuine meter panels to combine with. KG Works would just look even better.

Someone please convince me I need these....rocking AWD now.
Blue Potato

The AWD stuff is nice.
But you know you "need" the clean retro design of the RS offering. We have all seen your car, are you kidding me. It would be perfect. You know, we know that you must have it. What an empty feeling you will experience if the GB falls thru because of lack of participants.

I am still up for this GB. I like the whole look of the Type Smith gauges with the gauge overlay. Not Too Flashy, and Not Too Understated. They remind me of this set up, KG Panel and home made gauges, that I have liked:
(pic was on rspeed site a while ago).
