I hope to share new pics of my 93 Miata, but here's how she stands before someone keyed her. I should get her soon with a fresh coat of paint:

hold up, are those 2 different miatas? or the same one just repainted? Aside from the front emblem, Im having a hard time picking out the differences body wise...

Nope, it's not the same car. Notice the rear skirt on my gray Miata now...my white one didn't have it.
The silver corolla GTS is not mine.

Yupp, they were sprayed with translucent yellow paint. You can also use glass paint from your local arts/crafts store.
Never had legal issues with them. As far as I know (for Cali), you just can't have blue or red in front of your vehicle because they resemble colors used by the law enforcenment officers.
Welp, finally decided it was time to be able to be able to comment on and support the community that's helped so much over the past few years whenever I've scoured the web for odd roadster info, from things like M2, Kinod, and other threads to casually browse.
