So in my 1990 miata the doors can lock only from the the outside with a key. If I try locking while the door is not engaged either from the inside or outside the door unlocks itself when it shuts.

Is this normal? lol

Mine's like that too, just hold the handle open while you shut the door.

And prepare to explain that to each and every one of your passengers, multiple times. Keep a box of candies in your trunk so you can reward them when they get it right.

Haha I was wondering if it was done on purpose for that reason. Just wondering if that's truly how they came and everyone else's does this as well
