so i'm looking at running a phenolic spacer that is supposedly required to delete the EGR because it will not reach. i'm fine with this but wouldn't mind just getting the EGR to work as i have no real want to delete it or run with a CEL. i'm guess that this isn't an option, but decided to check to see if anyone has done it. i am sending out my injectors to get cleaned and blue printed and am installing a coolant re-route, so i figured i'd do a spacer anyways. i realize there aren't very big gains but if i'm in there might as well, right? or should i just save my monies? been doing a lot of searching and found a lot of conflicting results about everything i'm posting about here..

Coolant reroutes rarely work well with EGR. If you're planning to do the standard one with the Kia water neck and the huge GM hose, you'll not get to keep the EGR anyway. You might plan to do a hotside reroute or perhaps look at the Mtuned kit (which might work with EGR if I remember right).

As for the spacer, you should be able to bend things up to fit. Back when I ran EGR, I had it bent from my RB header to my 99 intake manifold. This was on my 97. Those tubes bend quite easily. I was able to do it by hand with the help of my bench vise.
