College towns also suck major ass at tipping. The only upside is the bitches, but bitches don't pay the bills.i know that in college towns your bound to see some good looking girls but from what i hear ALOT of people drunk order late night and then pass out by the time you get there.
Haha, pretty much this! There's nothing attractive about a guy delivering pizza sadly enough. It was the easiest laid back job I've ever had thoughFormer papa johns delivery guy here.
Couple of things, if you work in a nice area then tips are your best friend.
If you don't, you're going to want to kill yourself after every delivery.
Don't believe in the whole delivery boy gets laid kind of thing. Seeing a girl, or a even a cute one is
really once in a blue moon. Rarely happens. And when it does, shes usually wearing yoga pants and her boyfriend is yelling to tip the guy 2 bucks.
Anyways, point is you can make "alright" money delivering, it really depends on the tippers out there. Its better than minimum wage though.
It's almost like basic maintenance x2. You'll change oil very often. You can put up to 100mi or more in one shift, depending on how busy it is. Tires get wore out faster, you'd almost be better off replacing anything that can go wrong before you start. Wheel bearings, tie-rod ends, ball joints, brakes, cv axles, if you don't know or havent done it, replace it now. Not trying to get you to not work this job, but if I knew then what I know now, I'd have done it differently.well, i'm not worried about the cute chicks as i'm married anyways.. just figured i'd throw it in to find out stories..
i live in a small town (6000 people) so i'd probably be covering the whole town. i like my civic a lot and it would suck for it to get trashed, but it's got 241k miles on it and i already drive it 100 miles a day. shouldn't get too trashed, will just have to worry about upkeep more.
thanks for the tips. i'll look into the places we have in town. i'm not looking to get rich, just looking to get some play money for the cars and help to pay off some debt.
oh yeah, if it's laid back that would be a huge bonus..![]()
This is true, to an extent. I've worked for two chains, and while I have had to wear a uniform, I've not had to put a sign on my car. I've also worked for a small company where I didn't wear a uniform, and I've never felt more unsafe in my life. But then, that could have been Calumet City, Il making me feel that way, so I'm not sure. But yeah, sometimes it is more prosperous to work for smaller shops, the higher price is somehow better accepted and greatly rewarded. But many of them are not nearly as busy as a national chain. So the potential to make more is there, but the big rushes are fewer and farther between.DONT go to work for a big chain, people who order Dominos are cheap bastards, go to work for a local store with good food and you can make some decent tips and not have to wear a uniform or put a sign onto your car.
