It's been a long wait, but the Racing the Rock DVDs are now available. The world premiere of the show was at the FM Summer Camp last weekend and it was really well received.

Racing the Rock: 6 Days at Targa Newfoundland follows the Flyin' Miata team as they take on the grueling race. You'll ride along with the experienced husband and wife team of Keith and Janel Tanner as they take aim at the overall win in the Open class with their ferocious V8 Miata. You'll watch rookies Brandon Fitch and Zach Bowman working to gel as a team as they simultaneously deal with the challenges of Grand Touring. You'll also learn how the teams managed to get to the race in the first place thanks to the support of the Miata community.

The film isn't your average home video. Adam Costa, serial Miata owner and Miata.net member, is a professional filmmaker who took this on as a personal project. He dug through more than 200 hours of footage - in-car, roadside, and interviews from before, during and after the race - to put together a great story that even non-Miata people will enjoy.

There's a cool background to the film project as well. Adam turned to Kickstarter to fund the film, so this is a community-supported film about a community-supported race team. Kickstarter contributors will be receiving their copies very shortly, by the way.

$25 including shipping. We have a very limited number of these on hand right now, although more will be available as soon as we can arrange it.

Keith, thanks for posting this up! We had a ton of fun making this film, and we really hope miata owners will want it in their collection.

Watched it yesterday as soon as it arrived, AWESOME! VERY well shot and edited, to the point where someone that has no interest in cars or Miatas will watch it and enjoy the story/characters. Now I need to go do a Targa!!! Luckily we have a rally every month or two put on by my autocross region (South Jersey SCCA) so I'll start with a few of them

Yeah, just saw the Speed short wrap-up coverage of the Targa Rally, and for a brief moment they showed the V8 NA, explaining how they were the leaders until electrical issues occured. Video was from around stage 4 or 5 into Marysville...was cool! Will have to get this video for Christmas ;)
