Turns out the parking garage in Orinda charges money sometimes, and tends to be faily crowded, sounds like a plan C or D to me. Are there any garages in Berkley? We have some in Walnut Creek, but thats far away.

From weather.com...

...WET AND STORMY WEATHER TO RETURN TO THE BAY AREA THIS WEEK...

AFTER AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF DRY WEATHER THROUGH MUCH OF JANUARY AND THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY...A DRAMATIC SHIFT IN THE WEATHER PATTERN IS EXPECTED THIS WEEK. A CHANGE TO WET... AND AT TIMES STORMY WEATHER WILL BEGIN WEDNESDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE UPCOMING WEEKEND.

THE FIRST IN A SERIES OF RAIN STORMS WILL REACH THE NORTH BAY BY LATE TUESDAY NIGHT...THEN SPREAD OVER THE ENTIRE DISTRICT ON WEDNESDAY. RAINFALL AMOUNTS WITH THIS SYSTEM WILL BE LIGHT TO MODERATE...RANGING FROM NEARLY AN INCH IN THE WETTEST NORTH BAY MOUNTAIN LOCATIONS TO LESS THAN A HALF INCH ACROSS INTERIOR VALLEYS.

A BRIEF BREAK IN THE RAIN COULD OCCUR WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY... BEFORE A STRONGER STORM TAKES AIM AT THE REGION THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. GUSTY SOUTH WINDS WILL DEVELOP ON THURSDAY...ALONG WITH AREAS OF HEAVY RAIN. WINDS COULD REACH SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF 30 MPH WITH GUSTS OVER 40 MPH DURING THE HEIGHT OF THIS STORM. IN ADDITION TO TAPPING INTO A MORE MOIST SUBTROPICAL ENVIRONMENT... THIS FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL BE SLOWER TO MOVE THROUGH THE DISTRICT. THEREFORE... RAINFALL AMOUNTS WITH THIS STORM COULD BE DOUBLE THOSE OF WEDNESDAYS SYSTEM.

AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THE END OF THE WEEK AND NEXT WEEKEND...INDICATIONS ARE THAT THE FOCUSING MECHANISM FOR CONTINUED RAINFALL WILL STALL SOMEWHERE AROUND THE SAN FRANCISCO OR MONTEREY BAY REGION. THIS COULD LEAD TO A PROLONGED PERIOD OF MODERATE TO PERHAPS HEAVY RAIN AT TIMES. IF CURRENT PROJECTIONS HOLD THROUGH FRIDAY...GROUNDS WILL HAVE BECOME SATURATED AND ADDITIONAL RAINFALL THEREAFTER COULD RESULT IN LOCALIZED HYDROLOGIC PROBLEMS. ANOTHER ROUND OF STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS IS ALSO POSSIBLE LATE FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT...COMPOUNDING THE WEATHER SITUATION.

There are a few UC garages around that are covered and pretty empty, especially on weekends and nights. You probably dont need a permit on weekends, but if so, we're all standing around anyway.
I'll try to make a map of the garage Im talking about.

Ok, I thought of another which is probably the best. Its on the corner of Oxford and Berkeley Way. Its always empty, and pretty easy to find. A block away from the Ben and Jerrys, across the street from the main campus sign and big lawns.
The Ben and Jerrys address is 2128 Oxford St, Berkeley, CA. so you can make a map. The garage is one block north on the corner.
how's that work? 8)
