Has anyone done anything neat to there valve cover? I mean in painting it. I've seen some red, yellow, and polished ones. I want the Ford cover but I have a 1.6
Post up pics and info, Maybe doing a multi-color design would be cool.

I am working on a 3 stage powder coat on my cover with the letters shaved off.

i did this for my 1.6 but now i have a 1.8 so i have to do it again, haha.

it has 6 different colors sprayed on
white primer base
pink flowers
green leaves
brown branches
black background
clear top coat

took me 3 days to complete

suck my miata got wrecked before i got a chance to put it on.
at least now i get to be creative again when i make a new one.

since were on topic, who makes spark plug covers? I want one so that way i can have a flat template/compose for room to draw/get creative.

hand painted i assume? very nice and very creative. pretty inspiring too i may go a similar route, not same design though.

I did my 1.8 cover in texture black and polished the letters to a smooth mirror-like finish. Sorry, my photography sucks, but it looks pretty amazing in person.

My 1.6 cover is just regular black with the recesses painted red

But it used to be black with flames. Looking for a pic...

Friction fighter I always thought that valve cover you painted was rad. did you use stencils of hand paint it or what? When you do your next one you should do a progress thread.

how do you do the crinkle black?

You can rattle can it, or I can powder coat it for you. Rattle can cost about a third as much.
