Hi chaps,

I've a NB MX5, currently have 15x8 ET10 wheels on a 195/50/15 tyre.. The hub/fender measurement is around 10". I've also rolled the arches out quite abit, at least 1cm wider.

Only problem I have is on some bumps I get scraping from the tyre in the arch, I assume it's coming from the bracket between the wing to the bumper.

I watched a video on Youtube of rolling the arches and he mentioned that he cut this bit off and cable tied the bumper on instead, another friend though has said I should adjust the caster to bring the wheel slightly further back in the arch away from the bit it's catching on.

Hopefully this makes sense! The bracket is where the red line is on this picture;

(I have searched, but couldn't really find any advise..)

Remove all inner fender parts and cut tab and move further away from the tire. Once you decide to actually get it slammed, get a smaller tire. 45 or 40 sidewall. /thread

I've got rid of the inner fender parts, and bent all of the tabs inside upwards away from the tyre. There is gap at the top of the tyre, but down by the red line on the picture you can't get your finger in there.

That was the next thing, smaller side wall. But I've just put on new 195/50s, so will need to wait abit to change them for a smaller tyre.

I will be winding the coilovers down abit further when I've raised the engine up.

I've bent mine as much as I can but still use the holes. I carry a hammer for the times that my tires decide to un-bend those tabs....and I'm not even close to slammed.

I'm no where near slammed either, but do want to go lower but can't at the moment because of the scraping. I'll get the wheel off tomorrow and have a look at what will be best, either bend them out the way or cut them off.

The tabs seem to stay out of the way, I bent them in then rolled the arches so they're pretty flat.

cut off all tabs and anything that gets in the way, your main problem is the 50 sidewall, go to a 40 sidewall and you shouldnt have that issue....and like everyone said zipties will be your new bestfriend

I've cut out that tab near the front, seems pretty good now. It's just the rear thats scrubbing..

Yeah 50 sidewall is a problem, will go to a 40-45 when I swap out the tyres :)
