So ive been poking around the internet for a few months, specifically Yahoo auctions, hoping that some of these pistons or possibly a whole motor would pop up. I know I could buy some high compression forged pistons over here but I'm not doing a crazy motor build so if I could save even $100 on the JDM pistons it would make me happy. And who doesn't like JDM awesomeness??? Amirite?

Anyway, ill be shooting TetsuyaGarage an email and maybe he'll be able to find them but I wanted to see if you guys had any good leads on these pistons. If a motor was sitting around for the right price, I'd probably buy it! So if you know a guy who knows a guy who's got this other guy then PM me or something and we can chat about it. As always, I appreciate any help that is given!

i did some research into the who pistons and thing for a upcoming build...wiseco comes with piston rings, it is only 20$ more than onlinemazdaparts.com's oem pistons + rings...your choice...

cast vrs forged. different characteristics and purposes. depends on the intent and purpose of the build. if i were to DD the car, i would want the cast pistons.

Does that r really make a difference? This isn't a super build...this is a lite build the I will DD and race occasionally

The reading I did on C vs F comes down to purpose and longevity. There are different aspects to consider in the forged area. How is it forged? What alloy? What rings will it need/are available? Coatings? Majority of use?

I was surprised when I started looking into them, what was better for my purposes. If I was building a race motor, sure, I would look at a forged piston, but considering most of the miles I would be putting on it were typical street/spirited the cast pistons looked to be a smarter choice.
