Anyone have a set? I see them on TougeFactory.com for $1200 and they really caught my eye. From what I've been hearing they are pretty damn good, but I would like to know more before I drop a buttload of cash on a set. Also, they come in 8/6 or 9/7 for the spring rates. I want to drift and autocross my car so what would you guys recommend to me?

Thanks!

Have you actually talkede to anyone who has a set on a miata?

I am sceptical of any coilover whose discription includes :they include solid upper mounts because they have the benefit of reducing noice. They also don't mention if they are single adjustable or non adjustables?

this was taken from the discription on tougefactory's main page.

We have to get Matt a set to test!

Here's the text from the Stance site. Not sure if this boilerplate description applies to all their apps including the Miata:

http://www.stancesus.com/specifications.php

"Monotube suspension offers many benefits over conventional twintube suspension. Oil and gas are completely separated, which results in precise damping characteristics. Monotube design allows heat to dissipate much quicker. Inverted monotube design can resist extremely high lateral forces compared to an upright twintube suspension."

"Stance coilovers utilize anodized aluminum uppermount and perches. 1 piece integrated pillowball uppermount eliminates noise and increases durability. Cold wound springs minimize sagging. Dust boots protect vital moving parts."

"Individual shock can be easily replaced and overhauled. Shock body is specially coated to resist corrosion."

"15-way adjustable damping allows user to adapt to any road conditions and setup the vehicle's handling appropriately. High quality polyurethane bushings result in awesome road feel while keeping road noise to a minimum."

"Brackets are reinforced for durability. Special powdercoating technique is utilized to resist corrosion. Adjustable bottom brackets allow change in height without affecting the preload for precise handling."

no offense to 240 guys, but most of them don't know what the heck they are doing. And taking other people's word for quality on other cars is problematic. If they are valved poorly for a miata, then it doesn't matter how they work on other platforms.

If you asked the people who like them if the adjustment knob changes bump or rebound, I suspect 90% wouldn't know the answer.

Not sure what genetic's post means? anything who makes is good? thats a broad statement...

And a comment on drift set ups : good drift setups are no different than good grip setups. You won't have a setup that is good for one and bad for the other.

And Bill - I don't want a set, but if someone in SoCal gets them, I'll play with them and give you some feedback...

Apparently they are still preorder, TF just didn't seem to clarify that part very well. (Thanks Paul :p)

Anyways, when they do come out I hope there are some good reviews because the pricetag isn't too bad.

I don't work from a shop as most of the work I do is done track side. (and I have a day job)

While I can do alignments and corner balancing, I usually combine that with track side tuning / tweaking. I essentially will help you get the car to be its fastest and most responsive for your specific set up by making ride hieght, damping adjustment, alignment, tire pressure, etc changes while on track. This is usually coupled with in car instruction too for the guys that want it.

What alignment specs will you be using? I don't know johnson's in Torrance. Will they do corner balancing too? (I'm just curious - not interested in taking thier business)

I'm not sure on alignment specs yet, but i do know that im going to want an agressive street setup moreso than track.

Johnsons does cornerweighting etc, the owner races in the poc and usually wins his class, and he's been setting up my dads cars as long as i can remember.
