best thing was top up, back window zipped down, side windows down.. best thing evah.
Bam, done.

Unless your window is non-zippered, in which case you'll just have to suck it up and deal with your horrible 85 degrees of hell.

I kept the carpet in my car for this reason, but still felt an increase in interior temp with the little bit of insulation underneath removed. I bought some adhesive backed heat barrier material for the underside of the trans tunnel. I only covered the driver's side of the tunnel, but it made a HUGE difference in the interior temp. I degreased the surface then went over it with rubbing alcohol for good measure. I was paranoid about it coming off, but it's still stuck on there...
