Maybe I'm just getting too cynical in my old age but this part doesn't look "right" to me and the auction doesn't feel "right" either. The seller is a huge vendor of replica parts such as OBX-like manifolds and cat-back exhausts, Cusco style lower control arm braces and Racing Beat style intakes. I can't imagine it'd be too hard to counterfit the packaging, slip in an OBX-like short shifter, and make big profits off unsuspecting buyers. Or maybe the Mazdaspeed packaging is genuine but the part isn't? I'm not saying this is happening for sure, but I do suspect it. I guess it could be possible that someone polished their Mazdaspeed shifter. But why do the aluminum mounting plate and gasket look exactly like those offered with the OBX style short shifters? Be warned.
