Tein RA - spring rates ???

2110 Views 11 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  TrophyFodder
I got my Tein RA's ( new old stock - very cheap :) ) shipped over from Japan last week and I won't be able to fit them for a while yet ...

the spring rates that came with the units seem very stiff :

F - 8k
R - 7k

if anyone else is running these units, what spring rates have you got ?

TIA

Those spring rates sound very normal to me, that's the average rate especiallly for a high end coilover like RA
should be fine.. i always hear people saying they want to run 9/7kg

I have tein SS with 7/6 rates just like tein flex.
thanks for the info guys, I am not particularly up on spring rates or high end suspension and I was led to believe by my friend in Japan that these rates were quite high so I am glad to hear these are normal :)

I wasn't planning on getting such high end units for my car as I have already blown my budget several times over but these came up for a VERY good price and they are green and gold so match my car perfectly !!!
Mine has 8kg and 7kg also! and it's still for sale. :)
How do they ride?

I wish I knew ... it is a bit of a running joke - me and my unfinished car, it has been off the road for 14 months now but the end is in sight !!!

a word to the wise - unless you have unlimited time and resources DON'T decide to change your interior/engine/suspension/bodywork all at the same time !!!

yeah. no kidding. I feel your pain...
I use 9/7 on my ra

I like stiff front

maybe you wont? maybe you will?

this question is like asking people if they like fat chicks, and how they ride....

everyone will have a diff idea of what is good or bad and how they ride

what may be stiff to you might be caddy soft to sombody else.

just my .02

HAHAHAHAHA
Good analogy.
My bet is that you will love them. If not, sell 'em.
8/7 is what I plan to run on Stance coilovers whenever I get around to buying them (damn college). As long as your valving is up to par, you'll be happy....and with Tein, you should be quite happy.
