Ok I've searched and I'm in the middle of removing my dash but how the hell do you get the plastic cover off that hides the top bolt? I'm pretty new at this and am documenting everything so I can start a build thread soon. Full interior swap from tan to black with new 914 seats, custom door cards, center consol blah blah. All done by myself. Help please?

that was a really frustrating one. i had to use a knife and and stab in between the right side of it and tilted it up. i had another friend quickly put another knife under it as soon as i lifted it high enough. then we popped it right off.

You shouldn't NEED to cut any wiring at all. I did end up cutting the two ground wires at each lower corner of the dash though and relocating them after the dash swap. All those annoying plastic clips that hold the harness to the dash, I cut off too. Replaced with half a dozen zip ties and all is well.

just make sure when you put the new dash in, dont forget swapping your vin badge and make sure youre not pinching any wires from your radio under the dash. mine was alittle frustrating considering i had an aftermarket alarm and after market radio+amp. i got the vin badges out by poking the rear of the rivets with a soldering iron.
