Re: Tree's Roadster

Then I started to undo all the connections on the engine. I came across this bracket between the oil filter and starter. It only has 1 bolt holding it in and it's not attached to anything. Does anyone know what it's for?
Looks like the intake manifold bracket to me, hard to see for sure in that picture. I took mine out and called it "weight savings".

I tried squeezing under the car, but quickly gave up on that.
My old 4runner was so awesome to work on because I never had to put it on stands. I even did the clutch without raising the car any. I do miss that somedays.

Well, I took advantage of Cyber Monday sales and bought something I've wanted just as long as I've wanted a Miata. The package is coming from Japan and should be here in 20 days or less. I'm super pumped, my wallet? Not so much...
what is it!?
My guess is a steering wheel...

Re: Tree's Roadster

I went to Detroit today to pick my parts up and also sold my ITR 5 lug when I was there. I almost got mugged. It was terrifying. I have to be up super early tomorrow morning for work, so I'm only posting a teaser right now. I haven't even opened any of the parts yet. I'll post pictures as I get them as well as the story of the almost mugging.

holy crap man, glad you are okay. I'd definitely be carrying a pistol if I lived in detroit or went there with any regularity.

Re: Tree's Roadster

I started my last semester of college yesterday.
Truly, congrats on that. I graduated December 2013. It's an amazing feeling being done. What is your degree in? I seem to remember it being automotive related.

Re: Tree's Roadster

Thank you!
I'm excited, but at the same time I'm a little nervous about being finished.

After graduating I will have a diploma in Motive Power which leads the way to be an automotive service technician.
The end goal is to have both my welding tickets and be a fully licensed mechanic to do automotive fabrication (roll cages, custom parts etc, etc.) as well as repairs on the side.
Nice!

Baking soda. Soda blasting. Just start asking around. There are 4 or 5 guys in my town that do it. You just text them, they come do it in your driveway or whatever, and then you hose it away.
