I don't have an undertray so it's easy to access from the bottom. Maruha does make a carbon fiber access plate so you can modify your stock undertray to have a hole for access though.

I just got a new shipment of parts for Send Cut Send! To start off I have changed the mounting adapter for my MG mirrors again. This time with stainless steel instead of 3D printed ABS plastic.

Next I created a mount to house my AFR gauge in my glovebox. Currently it is mounted on top of a temperature relay that I plan to setup in a future project.

And finally a bracket to hold my coil packs on the back of the protege valve cover which should be powder coated soon, I just picked out the color 🤫

In the spirit of designing my own parts instead of buying off the shelf solutions, I decided to create CAD model of the wiper cowl. I started with Construction paper Aided Design, and transitioned it to Computer Aided Design after I got the correct shape.

I'm unsure what material I want to get it made of, but I am thinking about getting it in gold anodized aluminum. It would ultimately look very similar in color to the ARC/Mazdaspeed intake box.

I finally got my Protege valve cover powder coated and installed. It looks so good, I cant believe that I waited so long to get around to it.

I also attended my first autocross event, even though it rained most of the day it was still a blast. I took it easy to get used to the course and the car but was able to improve my time from 84s on the first run to 67s on my last run. I can't wait for the event next month.

After the event I ordered some magnetic number so I will look like a chump at the next event.

I finally got everything I needed to install my ITBs so I decided to give it a shot. Overall everything thing went pretty well. I needed to modify some of the brackets that I had designed but I was still able to use them as intended. I was able to get the vacuum block mounted on the bottom of the ITBs so its out of site. Also I made a bracket so I could continue to use the OEM Miata throttle cable.

It was also tight getting everything to fit with the AC lines but I was able to massage things into compliance.

I had also designed a nice NB IAC plate to be able to run it as a standalone unit but it turns out the IAC I had was not working, so I had to hack together an adapter to run the stock NA8 IAC.

The tuning process has been a struggle, but I finally have the car running and driving pretty well and it idles like a stock car! The main issue I'm still working on now is acceleration enticement, when you get into the throttle it bogs for a second before it recovers. I have been tuning the car in ITB mode which had a steep learning curve at first but it is starting to make more sense now. I'm definitely still a very novice tuner though but I'm learning a lot. It's all worth it when you get to hear the brap of the trumpets!

turned out super nice, way better than mine looks! i'm hoping that i learn how to tune sooner than later, do you have any tips? I got the car started and idling in the fall, currently working on incorporating an iacv so i dont have to keep the throttles cracked on warm up. i work slow so i havent touched the car in months :p

Hey, good to see you here. I was looking through your thread before I tacked the install actually. I agree, you should definitely get an IAC hooked up. If you still have your stock one that is a great place to start. If you want more info on how I adapted mine to work I'm happy to share. As far as tuning goes I have been tuning the car in ITB mode, which had a pretty steep learning curve but it's starting to make more sense now...maybe. This video does a great job of explaining it and how to get your transition curve setup. Even if you just rough in the transition curve at first it gives you a good baseline to work from.
