so, i have a 03 jetta 2.0 5 speed and i recently put new yellow bulbs in from ecs tuning, the only other mod is the bent tab in the light switch to kill the drls. now the driver side is soo dim that you have to light a match to see if its burning!! passenger side is fine, no probs!! im far from being a wiring genious, so what could this be?? bad ground?? overheated wire?? corrosion??? could really use some suggestions on this!! fire away

I'm no electrical guru by any means but I'm guessing that the new bulbs are drawing too much current. Have you tried reversing any of the mods you just did?

no, not really, they worked fine for several monthes, just started going crazy in beginning of january. and its only the driver light , passenger lights fine. driver light works when it wants to, it just dont want to more often now?? got pulled over twice now , but apparantly the cant write a ticket for it because it is producing light...just less than the marker light!!
edit, both stocks were blown when these went in, so to try that il have to buy some.

You'll have to trace the wiring from your bulb to the fuse box. Also, get a multimeter to compare the passenger's side versus the driver's side.

put the original bulb back in and see if you still have the same problem, that's where I would start
